This classic spaghetti and meatballs recipe is a favorite for family dinners. It's hearty, comforting, and simple enough to make any night of the week.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 16 meatballs, each about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes.
  4. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
