Vegan Loaded Grilled Cheese
Enjoy this vegan take on a classic grilled cheese. With gooey plant-based cheese and fresh veggies, it's perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 8 slices whole grain bread
- 4 tablespoons vegan butter, softened
- 8 slices vegan cheese
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Method
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Spread one side of each bread slice with softened vegan butter.
- Place 4 slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
- Layer each with 1 slice of vegan cheese, tomato slices, avocado slices, and spinach leaves.
- Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Top with another slice of vegan cheese and cover with the remaining bread, buttered side up.
- Carefully place sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Press lightly with a spatula to ensure even cooking and that the cheese melts thoroughly.
- Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then slice in half and serve warm.
