Ingredients

  • 1 sheet pre-rolled puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 10 ripe figs, halved
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, score a 1-inch border around the edges of the pastry, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the mascarpone cheese and 2 tablespoons of honey until smooth. Spread the mixture evenly over the center of the pastry within the border.
  4. Arrange the halved figs on top of the mascarpone mixture, cut side up.
  5. Sprinkle the figs with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed around the edges.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Drizzle with additional honey and sprinkle with flaky sea salt before serving.
