This small-batch chocolate cake is perfect for when you want to indulge without having too much leftover. It's easy to make with just one bowl, making clean up a breeze.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a small 6-inch round cake pan and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined and smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
