These small-batch chocolate chip cookies are perfect for when you're craving something sweet without a lot of leftovers. Ready in under an hour, they're a great treat to whip up anytime.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until well combined.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
