Simple Sausage and Peppers Skillet

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound Italian sausage links, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Method
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove sausage from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced red, yellow, and green bell peppers, and onion. Cook for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Return the sausage to the skillet and pour in the chicken broth. Stir to combine and let cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
