Simple Homestyle Meatloaf

This meatloaf combines simple ingredients to create a comforting and satisfying dinner. Perfect for a cozy spring evening at home. Serve it with your favorite sides for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup, for topping

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and shape it into a loaf.
  4. Spread the remaining 1/4 cup ketchup evenly on top of the loaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
