Sheet-Pan Loaded Grilled Cheese
This loaded grilled cheese is everything you love about a classic comfort food, but made easier with a sheet-pan method. Perfect for a cozy dinner any time of the year.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, for greasing
- 8 slices whole grain bread
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced
- 4 ounces turkey breast, sliced
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup spinach leaves
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Method
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Lightly grease a sheet pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Arrange 4 slices, buttered side down, on the prepared sheet pan.
- Evenly distribute the cheddar cheese, turkey breast, tomato slices, and spinach leaves over the bread slices on the sheet pan.
- Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread, buttered side up. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and black pepper to taste.
- Place another sheet pan on top of the sandwiches to press them slightly. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Carefully remove the top sheet pan and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then cut each sandwich in half. Serve warm.
