Plain Cheesecake
This plain cheesecake is wonderfully creamy and easy to make, perfect for a cozy winter dessert. With a buttery crust and rich filling, it's sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 8 oz packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
Method
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and 1/4 cup sugar. Stir in the melted butter until combined.
- Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the prepared crust in the springform pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cheesecake to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
