Plain Cheesecake

This plain cheesecake is wonderfully creamy and easy to make, perfect for a cozy winter dessert. With a buttery crust and rich filling, it's sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 8 oz packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and 1/4 cup sugar. Stir in the melted butter until combined.
  2. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the prepared crust in the springform pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow the cheesecake to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
