Perfect Baked Ham Dinner
This baked ham dinner is perfect for a slow weekend at home. It's a classic, crave-worthy dish that's both satisfying and healthy.
Ingredients
- 1 fully cooked bone-in ham, about 8 pounds
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- Olive oil, for greasing
Method
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a large roasting pan with foil and grease it lightly with olive oil.
- Place the ham in the roasting pan, fat side up. Score the surface in a diamond pattern and cover the pan loosely with foil.
- Bake the ham for 1 1/2 hours. Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by combining brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, and rosemary in a saucepan.
- Bring the glaze mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
- After 1 1/2 hours, remove the foil from the ham. Brush the ham generously with the glaze.
- Continue baking the ham, uncovered, for an additional 1 to 1 1/2 hours, basting with the glaze every 20 minutes, until the ham is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
- Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. Serve warm with any remaining glaze on the side.
