Enjoy a juicy pan-seared steak complemented by a rich herb and garlic butter. This dish is perfect for a slow weekend meal, keeping it both indulgent and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 4 ribeye steaks, 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed

Method

  1. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  3. Season the steaks on both sides with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  4. Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.
  5. While the steaks are cooking, prepare the herbed garlic butter. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, thyme leaves, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  6. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate covered loosely with foil.
  7. Top each steak with a dollop of the herbed garlic butter and let it melt over the warm meat.
  8. Serve the steaks hot with your choice of sides.
