Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan

Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs.
- Dip each chicken breast in the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven, spread marinara sauce on each chicken breast and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.
