Oven-Baked Beef Brisket

This oven-baked beef brisket is tender and full of flavor, making it a great centerpiece for any meal. It's easy to prepare and the oven does most of the work for you.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds beef brisket, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Rub the brisket with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. In a large oven-safe pan, arrange the sliced onions in an even layer.
  4. Place the brisket on top of the onions.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the beef broth, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Pour the liquid mixture over the brisket.
  7. Cover the pan tightly with foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  8. Bake for about 4 hours, or until the brisket is tender.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes to let the top brown.
  10. Let the brisket rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
