Oven-Baked Beef Brisket
This oven-baked beef brisket is tender and full of flavor, making it a great centerpiece for any meal. It's easy to prepare and the oven does most of the work for you.
Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef brisket, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Method
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Rub the brisket with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
- In a large oven-safe pan, arrange the sliced onions in an even layer.
- Place the brisket on top of the onions.
- In a small bowl, mix the beef broth, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the brisket.
- Cover the pan tightly with foil and place it in the preheated oven.
- Bake for about 4 hours, or until the brisket is tender.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes to let the top brown.
- Let the brisket rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
