Loaded Grilled Cheese Sandwich

This loaded grilled cheese sandwich is perfect for a comforting dinner at home. Filled with gooey cheese, savory ham, and fresh spring greens, it's a dish everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices whole grain bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices ham
  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place 4 slices of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet.
  4. Top each bread slice with 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 2 slices of ham, a few spinach leaves, and tomato slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve immediately.
