Silken tofu serves as the creamy base, complemented by the fresh flavor of shiso leaves, the slight tang of rice vinegar, and the aromatic touch of sesame oil. This simple recipe is a quick way to enjoy a healthy meal without turning on the stove.

Ingredients

  • 1 block (about 300 g) silken tofu, drained
  • 5 shiso leaves, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste

Method

  1. Gently drain the silken tofu and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Place the tofu on a serving plate and cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and toasted sesame oil.
  4. Drizzle the soy sauce mixture over the tofu cubes evenly.
  5. Top the tofu with sliced shiso leaves, spring onions, and toasted sesame seeds.
  6. Season with flaky sea salt to taste before serving.
