Homestyle Meatloaf
This homestyle meatloaf is a comforting classic perfect for family dinners. Serve it with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables for a complete meal that everyone will love.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon mustard
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf if necessary.
- In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 75 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
