This homestyle meatloaf is a comforting classic perfect for family dinners. Serve it with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables for a complete meal that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf if necessary.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 75 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
