Easy One-Pan Beef Tacos

These easy ground beef tacos are perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a lazy weekend meal. Everything cooks in one pan, making cleanup a breeze.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream, for serving

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned.
  4. Stir in the chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix to combine.
  5. Pour in the water and let the mixture simmer until the beef is fully cooked and the flavors meld, about 5 minutes.
  6. Warm the corn tortillas on a hot skillet or in the microwave.
  7. Assemble the tacos by filling each tortilla with the beef mixture, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheddar cheese.
  8. Serve with sour cream on the side.
