Easy Baked Chicken Parmesan
This baked chicken parmesan is a classic favorite that's both easy to make and delicious. With a crispy coating and melty cheese, it's a dish the whole family will love. Serve it with a side of pasta or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese, oregano, and garlic powder into separate shallow bowls.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Place the coated chicken breasts onto the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with a little olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the oven. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Enjoy with pasta or a side salad.
