These easy baked barbecue ribs are perfect for a summer weekend. Slow-cooked to perfection, they offer a delicious, satisfying meal for family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back ribs, about 4 pounds total
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under the edge and pulling it off.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to create a rub.
  4. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  5. Wrap the ribs individually in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours, until the ribs are tender.
  7. Remove the ribs from the oven, carefully open the foil, and brush both sides with barbecue sauce.
  8. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs, uncovered, to the oven for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
