These easy baked barbecue ribs are perfect for a summer weekend. Slow-cooked to perfection, they offer a delicious, satisfying meal for family and friends.
Ingredients
- 2 racks baby back ribs, about 4 pounds total
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
Method
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under the edge and pulling it off.
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to create a rub.
- Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
- Wrap the ribs individually in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours, until the ribs are tender.
- Remove the ribs from the oven, carefully open the foil, and brush both sides with barbecue sauce.
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs, uncovered, to the oven for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
