This classic meatloaf is a perfect choice for a slow weekend cooking session. It's packed with flavor and will fill your home with inviting aromas. Serve it with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for greasing

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix the ingredients gently with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
  4. Lightly grease a loaf pan with olive oil. Transfer the meat mixture into the pan, pressing it down evenly.
  5. Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
