Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let them sit for 5 minutes until absorbed.
  3. Add the ground beef, chopped onion, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the breadcrumb mixture. Mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 75-90 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
