Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, stirring until smooth and well blended.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and whisk until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
