Classic Creamy Pasta

This creamy pasta is perfect for a comforting weeknight meal. Its rich and velvety sauce is quick to prepare, making it an ideal choice for a cozy dinner at home.

Ingredients

  • 400 g spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 cup peas, fresh or frozen
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Method

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for 2 minutes, then add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted.
  4. Add the cooked chicken and peas to the skillet. Stir to combine and heat through, about 3 minutes.
  5. Toss the cooked spaghetti with the creamy sauce, ensuring the pasta is well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with chopped fresh basil before serving.
