Classic Baked Ham Dinner
This classic baked ham is perfect for a weekend dinner, bringing warmth and comfort to the table. The sweet glaze enhances the natural flavors of the ham, making it a delightful main dish. It's paired perfectly with your favorite sides for a memorable meal.
Ingredients
- 1 bone-in ham, about 8 pounds
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Method
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Place the ham in a large roasting pan with the fat side up.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and cloves. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Brush the ham generously with the glaze, making sure to cover all surfaces.
- Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C), basting with the glaze every 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of baking to allow the glaze to caramelize. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
- Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. Serve with your choice of sides.
